How To Use UUID To Mount Partition in Linux

UUID benefits:
System maps partitions correctly even if hard drive is re-attached to different disk controller. You system will always boot even if You add new hard drive, change sata port, etc.

To list UUID use command:
blkid

Then You can use UUID number in fstab:

UUID=0f75c223-cb58-4586-a3cz-aad0c3f4f80f / ext3 errors=remount-ro 0 1
UUID=05e1cdb9-7818-4e26-bbd4-9601ecdffcdc none swap sw 0 0
UUID=3ef885d9-02ef-4109-b77d-95db63csa093 /var ext3 defaults 0 1
